Your Mysterious Origins

You were discovered as a newborn, cradled in the lifeless arms of your mother at the base of a tree. With no family to claim you, the men who rescued you took you in and became the only parents you have ever known. Growing up in the village of Stonebrook, your life was relatively comfortable, until the day you fell ill with a mysterious condition that defied diagnosis and cure. This enigmatic illness haunted you, striking unpredictably and threatening your life at any moment. As you navigated the challenges of adulthood, a mysterious mark appeared on your body, raising more questions than answers and hinting at a deadly fate.

A Quest for Survival and Answers

With the mark’s appearance, you realized your only hope for survival lay in seeking answers. You embarked on a journey through the land of Iroda, a fantasy world where the gods had abandoned their people and magic was no longer the dominant force it once was. Amidst this changing world, something significant was brewing, and you found yourself at the center of it, though your role remained a mystery. Wanted by some and sought after by others for unknown reasons, your primary goal was to survive. Assisted by a few loyal friends, you set out to uncover the truths you needed and make crucial decisions that would shape your destiny.

Customizing Your Character

You have the freedom to tailor your character to your liking. Choose your character’s gender, appearance, and sexuality. Select a main hobby, skill, or career that your character excels in. Even add a unique scar with an intriguing or embarrassing backstory. You can also acquire one of four nameable mounts to ride and care for. As you progress through the story, you shape your character’s personality without the constraints of predefined personality checks. You can pursue romantic relationships with one of five suitors or opt for aromantic encounters with certain characters.

Navigating Challenges and Content Warnings

This journey is not without its challenges and potential triggers. Be prepared for encounters involving swearing, violence, blood and gore, severe injuries, animal deaths, and other mature themes. The story includes optional explicit sexual content, nudity, and non-consensual touching. It also touches on chronic illness, childbirth complications, and death. Additionally, you may face abduction, harassment, religious trauma, cults, and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. Substance use and references to alcohol are also present.

Main Companions and Romantic Interests

Your journey is accompanied by several key characters who can become romantic interests or lifelong friends.

Oswin Twinflower (AKA: Yarrow)

Oswin, a childhood friend, has transformed over the years. Once known for his free-spirited nature and perpetual smile, he has grown into a serious and distant adult. Despite his tough exterior, Oswin values the company of others, is organized and thorough, and cares deeply for his friends and family. He stands at around 6’2″ with black, slightly wavy hair, bright-green eyes, and brown skin. Oswin often scowls and has a firm, squared jaw, along with notable scars that tell stories of his past.

Zahn

Zahn is a cheerful and sociable individual you meet on your journey. Despite their fun-loving nature, there is a hint of sadness behind their smile. Zahn is adaptable, enthusiastic, and always willing to help. They stand about 5’5″ with wild blond hair, round blue eyes, and fawn-colored skin. Zahn’s appearance is marked by slight tiredness and sunken eyes, reflecting their difficult past.

Duri’naan (AKA: Duri)

Duri’naan, a demigod to whom you owe a debt, is curious about you. They are charming, laid-back, and prefer deep friendships. Duri is perpetually curious and confident, with a love for teasing that can sometimes make them appear disinterested. They stand around 5’9″ with long, straight grey hair and honey-brown eyes. Duri has a distinctive scar on the back of their neck and is missing part of one ear. They prefer simple clothing and are often barefoot.

Rūndis Lyreheart (AKA: Rune)

Rūndis is a serious and powerful mage dedicated to the God of Destruction, Casimir. Despite their capabilities, they prefer to live as a traveling bard. Rune is an introverted daydreamer seeking deeper meanings and is curious and efficient. They have shoulder-length curly hair with a flash of purple, almond-shaped purple eyes, and umber skin. Rune wears fine robes and cloaks that match their eyes and has a tattoo of Casimir’s sigil on their chest.

The content currently includes a short prologue and Chapters 1-5, with a total word count of approximately 480,000 words. The Chapter 3 demo was submitted for the Amare Games Festival 2024.
